For an institute of supposedly higher learning, you'd think Greendale would have learned it's lesson. Paintball is a dangerous game. What was supposed to be a casual, fun, mid-summer, pre-fall, semi-reunion dance turned into a multicoloured, paint splattery bloodbath the second the Dean announced the prize.
A new car.
Pierce donated it after a heated, but stupid, argument with Jeff. It was originally supposed to be free movie tickets! That's it! Just some stupid movie tickets that nobody would care about. But Jeff just had to egg Pierce on about charity. And Pierce had to be old and crazy. And the Dean had to have all the weapons out right there at the dance! And Annie still had to grab for a gun without any pants. Stupid, cute, dress!
She'd lost track of the group a few hours ago. Word in the hallway was Vicky and Jeff had set up rival 'families' on either end of the school. They had hired help wandering around and taking each other out the second one group encroached on the other's territory. They kept sending each other messages. Intimidating displays of firepower, weirdly symbolic and probably vague movie references. Abed would know... if he was even still in the game.
Annie had holed up in the biology lab like last time. She didn't want to pick sides... but she really could use that new car. Honestly, she thought the whole mafia thing was idiotic and could never work. Too many other people for a viable alliance. She was better off on her own! All... alone. So very--
"Hands where I can see 'em. Keep them mitts off your bean-shooter if you don't wanna get bumped off here and now, ya mug!" Okay, so the mafia thing is stupid, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a soft spot for gangster talk like in the movies! It's cool! And whoever's on the other side of that door has a gun pointed right at them.

Date: 2013-12-08 04:24 am (UTC)"Everyone in school's picking sides. They're so busy fighting each other that we could pick them all off while they're taking each other out! It's the perfect strategy! We'll trigger an entire turf war culminating in a huge battle that leaves their leaders defenseless!" It could work. It could totally work! Annie's so excited that she can't stop bouncing up and down, which might be slightly distracting for two very good reasons.
"Then we could split the car, it's foolproof!"
